Mail Snoop
Mail Snoop is an email checker and Spam filter
system, designed to monitor any number of email accounts without
disturbing you and alerting when there is new mail you really
need to see.
Mail Snoop includes the following features:
Copes with any number of POP3 email accounts.
New Mailbox Wizard lets you easily set-up Mail Snoop to access
your mail server.
Friends List to allow you to enter email addresses that you always
want to receive mail from. If an email is received from an address
on the Friends List, it's marked as accepted and not processed.
Blacklist
10 different preset filter types, which can be quickly configured
to block mail from unwanted sources, unsolicited mail, mail with
attachments etc.
Internet access via Dial-up Networking (modem) or Local Area Network
(LAN). If using a modem, Mail Snoop can connect/disconnect automatically
and will stay online (if required) when new mail is detected.
Any mail checks are carried out automatically at preset intervals
or manually if required.
How Mail Snoop works
Mail Snoop works in the background, automatically
checking your email servers at preset intervals without downloading
the messages, which can take time. Each email is quickly scanned
against a set of filters, marking or deleting unwanted Spam mail
and advising of new mail awaiting your collection.
Mail Snoop runs in the system tray, displaying an
icon there. The icon displayed changes depending on what is happening,
and also advises when new mail arrives.
Mail Snoop's filter system will rapidly check each
new email for any suspicious items. Initially by checking its
"Friends List" to see which Senders you always want
to receive mail from and next by checking its Blacklist to see
if it is a Sender you never want to receive mail from. It then
filters the message by scanning.
Finally program will check for unwanted attachments,
emails that are too large or too small and emails that have an
invalid sender address
When new mail arrives, Mail Snoop can advise you
in a different ways; It can display a notification message, flash
the tray icon, play a sound, start up your email software or display
the Main Control Window and list the mail there.
